IShowSpeed confirms plans for huge collab with Jackie Chan while in China

IShowSpeed has just kicked off his latest overseas streaming tour, touching down in China and revealing plans to link up with the legendary Jackie Chan.

From petting kangaroos in Australia to becoming the mayor of Lima, the capital of Peru, no really, Speed’s unpredictable international streams are among the most popular broadcasts today. His last trip to Asia shattered his previous record, drawing 612,000 concurrent viewers.

Now, the YouTube star is walking the streets of China for his latest escapade. Already, on his first day in the nation, he surpassed another huge milestone, but things are only just heating up.

Typically, a big part of his trips involves meeting local celebrities, challenging athletes, and the like. China is set to be no different as Speed has outed his plans to connect with one of the most famous Chinese action stars of all time, Jackie Chan.

IShowSpeed has big plans for his time in China, and if all comes together, he’ll be meeting one of the biggest Chinese actors.

“Speed, wanna meet Jackie Chan?” a viewer in the March 24 broadcast asked. “Chat, that’s in the works, y’all,” Speed revealed.

For now, there’s no surefire guarantee the two cross paths, but Speed and his team are evidently striving to make it happen. “Me and Jackie Chan is in the works,” he reiterated.

Calling him the “King of China,” Speed claimed he just had to meet the Hollywood icon. Be it the Rush Hour trilogy, Rumble in the Bronx, the hilarious Shanghai Knights, or even simply voiceover work in the Kung Fu Panda series, Jackie Chan is among the most prolific Chinese actors of all time.

At 70 years of age, while his on-screen displays of martial arts may be slowing down somewhat, he’s still stepping in front of the camera in pivotal roles. Later this year, he’s reprising his role as Mr. Han in the next Karate Kids film, for instance.

Exactly what the pair may do on-stream together is anyone’s guess for the time being, but it’s clear Speed is a big fan of Jackie Chan. Of course, that’s not the only celebrity he’s trying to appear on stream with during his China trip.

“I want to meet Yao Ming too,” Speed said right after, though there are no concrete plans for the 7”6 ex-NBA player to appear just yet.
