Infinix’s new Note 40 series boasts large 120Hz AMOLED displays (most of them curved) and 108MP cameras (most of them with OIS). All have wired fast charging and are compatible with the company’s new magnetic wireless charging system (this is compatible with a special case).
Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G
This is the first Infinix Note to wear the Pro+ badge, though the Note 30 VIP was in a comparable position last year.
The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G is powered by the Dimensity 7020, a 6nm chip with two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.2GHz and six A55 cores at 2.0GHz. It is paired with up to 12GB of RAM, which can be doubled with virtual RAM.

On the front is a curved AMOLED display with its sides sloping at 55°. This is a 120Hz 10-bit panel with FHD+ resolution and up to 1,300 nits peak brightness with 2,160Hz high frequency PWM dimming. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass and Infinix also includes a tempered glass protector in the box.
The Pro+ is equipped with a triple camera system that boasts a 108MP main with OIS and up to 3x in-sensor zoom. On the downside, it can’t record 4K video. The other two modules on board are 2MP helpers. More interesting is the 32MP selfie camera.
Infinix is proud to present the Cheetah X1, its first in-house power management chip. It handles both charging and safety duties and can handle up to 100W. The 4,500mAh battery goes up to 50% in just 12 minutes and is rated to 1,600 cycles. Just 5 minutes of charging should last 3 hours of gaming or almost 7 hours of video playback.

There is also wireless charging at 20W. It’s not quite Qi 2, but Infinix did design a magnetic charging system dubbed “MagKit”. It includes both a wireless charger and a wireless power bank and can work with or without the case (the case is a special design, however). Reverse wired and wireless charging is supported too.
For gaming, you might appreciate Bypass Charging 2.0, which sends power directly to the motherboard (bypassing the battery), which helps the phone run 4.5°C cooler.
The phone also has a large vapor chamber (3,753mm²) and a graphite sheet, which combined reduce the chipset’s temperature by 7°C. On the fun side, there are stereo speakers by JBL that work with the x-axis haptic feedback to provide an immersive experience.
Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G in Vintage Green and Obsidian Black
The phone is rated IP53 (splash proof, so it can handle rain). It comes in two colorways. The Vintage Green option has a green leatherette back and golden accents (chassis and camera bump). The Obsidian Black drops the leatherette in favor of a black marble texture.

Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G
The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G is similar to the Pro+ with a curved 6.78” 120Hz AMOLED display (FHD+), a Dimensity 7020 and a 108MP main camera. Without the “+”, things have been dialed back a bit.

This starts with having up to 8GB of RAM (+8GB more virtual), storage is 256GB (LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2, respectively). Also, the charging system is capped at 45W over a wire, but it does maintain the 20W wireless with MagKit compatibility. On the plus side, the battery is larger at 5,000mAh.
Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G in Vintage Green and Titan Gold
Like the Pro+, this one is a dual SIM phone with 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth. There’s also NFC and an IR blaster on board.
All three Note 40 Pro models will receive 2 OS updates and 3 years of security patches, including the one below. All Note 40 models come with Infinix XOS 14 (based on Android 14).

Infinix Note 40 Pro
The Infinix Note 40 Pro drops the 5G and replaces the chipset with a Helio G99. However, it has as much RAM as the Pro+ model – 12GB actual and 12GB virtual. And it has faster wired charging than its 5G sibling at 70W, plus it gets to keep the 20W MagKit charging. This is with a 5,000mAh battery.

Note that the base model has 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. It uses the exact same 6.78” 120Hz display with curved sides and Gorilla Glass Protection. Surprisingly, the dust and water resistance on this one is a bit better at IP54.

Like the Pro 5G, this one gets the leatherette-bound Vintage Green option as well as a Titan Gold (the Obsidian Black is exclusive to the Pro+).

Despite lacking a “Pro” moniker, the Infinix Note 40 is quite similar to the model above – the key difference is that the display is flat (some will see this as an upgrade). It’s still a 6.78” FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED.

The phone is powered by the Helio G99 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage (LPDDR4X, UFS 2.2). It features a different 108MP main camera with the 1/1.52” ISOCELL sensor (the Note 40 Pro uses a 1/1.67” sensor).

Pricing & availability
The Infinix Note 40 series will launch globally tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19.The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G model will start at $310, while the regular Pro 5G will be $290. As for the 4G models, the Infinix Note 40 Pro will start at $260 and the vanilla Note 40 will be the cheapest of the bunch at $200.
Infinix and DesignWorks (a BMW group company) are collaborating on a special Racing Edition. Note that the exact pricing will vary by region.
