iDubbbz picked up the content cop mantle for the first time in years to make an hour long video calling out h3h3 productions, a creator he used to be close with. And, as a result of the fallout of that video, both iDubbbz (also known as Ian) and his partner Anisa have given up ownership of Creator Clash.
After he called out h3h3 productions (also known as Ethan Klein), the YouTuber struck back and chose to call out the event and questioned whether or not they were actually raising money for charity.
As a result, iDubbbz has chosen to step away entirely and relinquish control of the event. It’ll still be happening, but just not with him or Anisa involved in any way, shape, or form.
However, this decision hasn’t come without some drawbacks, with two creators already confirmed to have dropped out of the event in the wake of ongoing drama.
iDubbbz gives up ownership of Creator Clash event
Ian’s video about Ethan Klein has almost 7 million views at the time of writing, with it being one of his best performing videos ever. Him coming back to make a Content Cop after so many years made iDubbbz an immediate topic of conversation in ongoing discourse between several creators.
Through this experience, Ian claims that calling out creators and defending himself in drama makes it difficult to run a charity event.
“I was hoping that if I made a video about Ethan, he would act like an adult and keep the attacks directed at me and Anisa. Unfortunately, I was wrong in thinking that, because Ethan, in a desperate attempt to smear Anisa and I, started attacking our charity event,” iDubbbz explained in a follow-up video to the original Content Cop.
“With this recent revelation that people are just going to use Creator Clash to attack Anisa and I, Anisa and I have decided to step away from Creator Clash. We have relinquished control to our business partners who ran the previous two events.”
Creator Clash will still be happening, though with Harley Morenstein and Lena Ayad choosing to step away from their fights and refusing to be associated with the event in the wake of iDubbbz’s feud with h3.
“It had to come to this eventually. I can’t keep my mouth shut – I mean, I can, I just didn’t want to.” Ian explained in the video, saying that he wanted to fight back against Ethan instead of sitting back.
He claimed that he’s still proud of what he’s done with the event and wants his viewers to support it, even if he isn’t a part of it.
“I can’t really have my cake and eat it, too. It’s either you’re gonna talk s**t like a foul beast on the internet, or you’re gonna have a charity event. It really can’t be both,” iDubbbz said.
The official Creator Clash account also made a lengthy statement about the topic, one that concluded with them asking for people to put aside the drama and urging them to support charity and the creators that are still involved.
“If you’ve felt disappointed or let down by the noise, we hear you. But we hope you’ll continue to support the people stepping into the ring. They’ve worked too hard, and the charities we fight for are too important to let the mission get lost,” it reads.
As of now, the event is still happening June 28, 2025, and hasn’t been delayed as a result of this decision.
