IBC2024 Explores Trends and Collaboration Across the Global Media Technology Community
IBC2024 will see the global media and content production industry converge once again on the RAI Amsterdam convention center, September 13-16. The event, again using all 14 Halls of the exhibition center, will feature many new exhibitors, and promises to bring the content and technology community together to showcase game-changing innovations, address media’s most pressing trends, and enable collaboration during the four-day exhibition and three-day IBC Conference.
IBC sits at the global crossroads of the media, entertainment and technology industries, always providing an informative, innovative and engaging experience. Recognized as the most international event for the electronic media and entertainment industry – in parallel with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention held in Vegas every April – IBC takes place in Amsterdam in September, every year.
Always at the forefront of industry innovation, this is the international exhibition that truly showcases the latest broadcast trends, both on radio and television, and increasingly is a platform to showcase all the latest solutions for content production, including naturally all audio product segments, from microphones to mixing consoles and all systems for newsgathering and field recording.
The IBC Exhibition is in itself an experience, with exhibitors showcasing creation, management and delivery solutions for all media platforms, and a number of specially curated feature areas and events. Audio exhibits, most of them concentrated in Hall 8, include a unique combination of radio technology suppliers, microphone manufacturers, recording and production solutions, including ENG systems and many unique companies in the areas of communication and wireless transmission, apart from the most important studio technology manufacturers.
IBC2023 attracted over 43,065 attendees from 170 countries, with over 1,250 exhibitors and a 16% increase in total attendees. The 2024 edition is on track to expand on this post-pandemic comeback, with a strong momentum for the global media industry, and booked exhibitor space already surpassing last year’s total, motivating the organizer to open a new Hall 14 to expand the Content Everywhere and host an all-new AI Tech Zone.
IBC2024 will feature the return of leading global media technology brands including AWS, Blackmagic, Canon, LG, LTN, Panasonic, Ross Video, Samsung, Sony, and Zixi. Several companies will be back as exhibitors for the first time since 2019, with Benro, Insta360, Robe, The Weather Company, Vecima, and Yamaha returning to the show. There are also over 150 new exhibitors at IBC2024.

A big international draw for this event is the knowledge and networking experience. The IBC Conference will feature keynotes, presentations and panels with thought leaders from across the globe, who will be taking a deep dive into the issues, challenges and opportunities transforming media, entertainment and technology. The initial line-up of speakers for this year’s IBC Conference features representatives from leading industry players addressing core topics, including AI, 5G, Cloud, Esports, Immersive Experiences, OTT & Streaming, AdTech and Connected Technologies.
Across the show there are special events and activity areas such as the Showcase Theatre, the Innovation Stage, two Content Everywhere Stages, and the AI Tech Zone Stage. The Innovation Stage will also feature demonstrations from the Accelerator Media Innovation Program, with many of the most inventive players in M&E and technology.
The new AI Tech Zone, powered by the EBU in Hall 14, offers a central hub for AI solution vendors meeting specific industry needs to show how AI can positively impact the industry. An AI Tech Zone Stage – sponsored by Wasabi Technologies – will feature industry leaders and visionaries sharing their insights into how AI is transforming media and entertainment and how it can shape the sector’s future.
Another new element being introduced at IBC2024 is a special Audio Visual (AV) buyers’ event on the eve of the show. The event offers media technology companies the opportunity to promote their products, services and brands directly to major AV purchasers. Other show features that further reinforce IBC’s unique and extensive offering include the IBC Innovation Awards, which take place on Sunday, September 15 at the RAI Auditorium.
