As part of Summer Game Fest, Microsoft are showing titles from their first-party studios in the Xbox Games Showcase, followed by The Outer Wilds 2 Direct.
Summer Game Fest is here, giving publishers and developers the chance to show off their upcoming games, reveal what’s in development, and shadowdrop a game or two. The main SGF show takes place on the 6th, then Microsoft have their own showcase on the 8th.
Here’s how to watch the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and everything you can expect to see.
Xbox Games Showcase start time & stream
The Xbox Games Showcase starts on Sunday, June 8, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST / 3 AM AEST (June 9).
Here’s where you can watch the show:
What to expect
Xbox game reveals
Expect to see new gameplay, cinematic trailers, dev breakdowns, and release date announcements of Xbox’s upcoming first-party titles.
We expect to see more of Fable, Ninja Gaiden 4, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, and Gears of War: Reloaded, as they’re all releasing in 2025 and 2026.
We could also see more of Gears of War: E-Day, Everwild, Perfect Dark, State of Decay 3, Asus & Xbox’s leaked handheld, and perhaps even another look at The Elder Scrolls 6.
Outer Worlds 2 Direct
There’s also the Outer Worlds 2 Direct that takes place immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase. Here, we’ll get “new gameplay, details, and developer insights, straight from the people making the sequel to the award-winning, first-person sci-fi RPG.”
So far, we only know that it’s “coming 2025,” so we might get a tighter release window or even a release date confirmation.
Will Call of Duty 2025 be revealed?
There’s no guarantee that Call of Duty 2025 will be revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase. Last year, Black Ops 6 had its direct event immediately after the showcase, but The Outer Worlds 2 is in the spotlight this year.
The most we can expect is a title reveal or a small teaser trailer showing the game’s characters and setting, but if it does happen, it won’t be nearly as in-depth as the BO6 Direct.
When it will officially be revealed remains to be seen, but Activision have run a big “Call of Duty Next” event the past three Augusts, giving creators hands-on and revealing tons of details.
