How to play Schedule 1 Beta & get updates early

Schedule 1’s still in early access, meaning there are always new updates to look forward to. However, by playing the game’s beta branch, you can get access to all these new updates before they drop for the public.
Whether it’s to unlock new drugs, fishing, the cartel, or to finally be able to fully customise your character after you’ve sold your unused items, Schedule 1 is forever changing. After all, it is still in early access, and aims to be so for a long while.
However, players can get access to these regular updates early, through the game’s Beta Branch on Steam. So, here’s exactly how to unlock the Beta Branch in Schedule 1.
How to play Schedule 1 updates early
Thankfully, playing the beta branch of Schedule 1 isn’t too tricky. All you need to do is follow the steps below:
- Open Steam.
- Select Library.
- Right-click on Schedule 1.
- Select Properties
- Navigate to Betas.
- Click the dropdown button next to Beta Participation.
- Select beta.

With that, your game will be updated to the latest beta and you’ll be able to play the updated version before it comes out to the general public.
Naturally, given it’s a beta, things may be buggy and unpredictable. So, it’s recommended that you don’t load any saves that are important to you, as they could get corrupted.
As highlighted by TVGS, Schedule 1 will be getting regular updates as it goes through its early access period. So, ensuring you have the Open Beta enabled on Steam will allow you to try out the new features early.
