How to make a Spirit Key in Two Point Museum

The Spirit Key is an important object that ties into your progression in one certain map and here’s how to craft it.

If you love all things horror, Two Point Museum has just the perfect place for you to jump into, which is the Wailon Lodge museum. Fitting to the supernatural theme, you’ll be able to send your employees to the Netherworld to gather all sorts of artifacts – whether cursed or not.

Of course, included with this museum is a map with plenty of chilling POIs to unlock. One thing you may notice immediately, however, is that some of these locations on the map are locked, requiring the use of a Spirit Key.

The Spirit Key isn’t just some kind of regular item. It’s essentially an object that can be crafted only when you meet specific requirements. So, if you want to explore the locked locations in the Netherworld, here’s a guide on how you can make a Spirit Key.

How to get a Spirit Key in Two Point Museum

You’ll need a Spirit Key to explore certain locations on the Netherworld map.

The Spirit Key can be crafted using the Workstation machine in Two Point Museum. It’s a straightforward process, but there’s a catch to this.

First of all, not just any employee can make this object due to the Workstation machine requirement. The staff has to be a Janitor and they need to be qualified in Workshop

To put it simply, below are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Have a Training Room & Workshop ready
  2. Train a staff to learn the Workshop skill
  3. Craft the Spirit Key in the Workshop with qualified staff

Build a Training Room & Workstation machine

Examples of a Training Room and Workshop Room.

Having a Training Room and a Workshop goes a long way in this game, as you’ll need these two to craft other objects as well in the long run. If you haven’t done so already, make sure to save some spots in your museum for these two rooms before you head into Build mode.

From here, all you need to do is follow the requirements to build. The Training Room, for example, needs to have a desk and a Training Library, among other things.

Train a Janitor to learn Workshop skill

Select the Workshop option in the Staff Training menu.

Unless you already have a Janitor who already has the Workshop qualification, you’ll need to send one of your employees to training first. To train your employee, click the Training Library in the training room and select ‘Open Training Menu.’

Then, choose which Janitor you want to train and have the skill set to Workshop.

Craft the Spirit Key

The Workshop is a useful machine that you can use to craft different items, including the Spirit Key.

Once your staff has been trained with the skill, head over to the Workshop room and select the Workstation machine. You’ll then want to select “Start Project” and select the Spirit Key under the Expedition Cargo Items.

Your trained staff should automatically head to the workstation machine afterward to work on it – but if they don’t, they may just be in the middle of a break.
