How to find Wool Thread in Runescape Dragonwilds

Out of all the glorious loot, ancient relics, and high-level content available, you’ll eventually need Wool Thread in Runescape Dragonwilds, and here’s how to get it.
Runescape Dragonwilds has a long list of resources players will have to get, whether it’s by buying, crafting, or searching for them. One of which is Wool Thread.
This material may sound like it’s useless, but in fact, it is essential for crafting power level 3 gear. So if you’re after Wool Thread for improving your build or if you just want to knit battle socks for your maxed-out melee character, here’s how to get this sweet and fluffy material.
How to get Wool Thread in Runescape Dragonwilds
To get Wool Thread, you must kill Sheep or Wolves, collect the Fleece or Soft Animal Fur they drop, and craft a Spinning Wheel to turn either into Wool Thread.
Let’s do a step-by-step:
Build a Spinning Wheel
Before you can make Wool Thread, you’ll need to craft a Spinning Wheel at your base. Collect these materials:
- x12 Ash Logs (chop Ash trees or grab them off the ground)
- x4 Flax (found in Bramblemead Valley or Temple Woods)
- x2 Stones (mine boulders or grab them off the ground)
Once you’ve got them, use the crafting menu (B) to build your Spinning Wheel and place it wherever you want.
Gather Fleece or Soft Animal Fur
You can craft Wool Thread using either:
- Fleece: Drops from Sheep in Fractured Plains and Stormtouched Highlands. Passive, easy, and frankly adorable.
- Soft Animal Fur: Drops from Wolves in the same zones. Not adorable, so come prepared.
However, keep in mind that the conversion rate isn’t the same:
- x1 Fleece = x1 Wool Thread
- x3 Soft Animal Fur = x2 Wool Threads
Fleece is safer and more efficient, so go with sheep unless you’re looking for a fight.
Best uses for Wool Thread
In Runescape Dragonwilds, you can use Wool Thread for:
- Building a Loom (x6 Wool Thread, x4 Bronze Bars, x22 Ash Planks)
- Making Wool Cloth and Padded Cloth for higher-tier gear
