HoverAir X1 Pro and ProMax flying action cameras launched

ZeroZero, the company behind the innovative HoverAir X1, has announced the launch of two new flying action cameras: the HoverAir X1 Pro and HoverAir X1 ProMax. These advanced models are set to debut on August 26, 2024, at 9 am PST on Indiegogo.com, offering upgraded features designed to elevate aerial videography for both sports enthusiasts and professional content creators.

Building on the success of the HoverAir X1, which was known for its compact, foldable design and ease of use, the new Pro and ProMax models bring significant advancements in camera technology, flight performance, and safety features. The HoverAir X1 Pro is equipped with a 4K/60fps camera, specifically tailored for capturing dynamic sports such as snowboarding and cycling. On the other hand, the HoverAir X1 ProMax stands out as the world’s first 8K/30fps flying action camera, aimed at filmmakers and professional photographers seeking high-quality, immersive content.

Key Features and Specifications

The HoverAir X1 Pro and ProMax introduce several key upgrades over their predecessor:

  1. Enhanced Camera Capabilities: The HoverAir X1 ProMax features a cutting-edge 8K camera with a 1/1.3” CMOS sensor and a custom 7-layer lens, offering 14 stops of dynamic range and a 107-degree field of view. This makes it an ideal choice for professional-grade video production. The HoverAir X1 Pro also boasts impressive capabilities with its 4K/60fps camera and a 104-degree field of view. Both models support customizable ND filters to adapt to various lighting conditions.
  2. Superior Flight Performance: Both new models offer a follow speed of up to 42 km/h and can withstand wind speeds up to Level 5 (10.7 m/s). They also feature an advanced AI algorithm capable of tracking subjects moving at speeds of up to 60 km/h. With a maximum flight time of 16 minutes and the ability to fly up to 120 meters high (subject to local drone regulations), the X1 Pro and ProMax provide ample opportunity for capturing high-quality aerial footage.
  3. OmniTerrain and Collision Detection: The new OmniTerrain feature allows the X1 Pro and ProMax to operate in challenging environments, including over water, snow, and cliffs, and even in low temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F). For added safety, the HoverAir X1 Pro is equipped with rear-side proximity sensors for active collision detection, while the ProMax model includes an advanced computer vision sensor for enhanced obstacle avoidance.

Additional Features

The HoverAir X1 Pro and ProMax are designed with convenience in mind. They are both lightweight, foldable, and easy to carry, with weights of 191.5 grams and 192.5 grams, respectively. The cameras are protected by a durable Hyper-elastic Material (HEMTM) frame, making them robust enough to withstand the rigors of outdoor use. They also come with intuitive controls, including a digital screen and one-touch buttons, making it easy to adjust settings on the fly. A unique palm take-off feature allows users to start shooting in under three seconds using touch or voice commands.

The models also offer ample storage options, with the ProMax featuring 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 1TB with an SD card) and the Pro offering 32GB of internal storage. Users can access over ten customizable flight modes through the user-friendly HOVER X1 app, which supports fast downloads of up to 1.2Gbps using Wi-Fi 6.

The HoverAir X1 Pro is priced starting at $499 (£389), and the ProMax at $699 (£545), positioning them as competitive options for enthusiasts and professionals alike.
