Holophonix will launch version 2.3 of its immersive audio software at ISE 2025 in Barcelona. The software, which is a free download to Holophonix users, features two key advancements: enhanced interoperability and an intuitive ‘Wizard’ that simplifies the user experience and streamlines workflows for audio professionals. Holophonix will be at booth #7J100 – Hall 7 exhibiting with its sister brand Amadeus.
During ISE 2025, Holophonix will highlight version 2.3 of its software and Immersive Sound Processor, featuring many new functions and improvements. The French company is quickly establishing a unique position in the audio industry with its advanced spatial sound technology. Unlike most immersive audio solutions in the market, which have been designed for direct integration with each manufacturers’ sound reinforcement products, Holophonix offers a universal approach and an extremely advanced real-time immersive audio environment, perfectly optimized for the performing arts field.
Created by Gaëtan Byk in coordination with IRCAM and CNRS research institutes, Holophonix offers a global solution including software, plugins, hardware processors, and electronic devices, adapted by many world-renowned cultural institutions.
The primary goal behind the Version 2.3 update is to simplify the way users interact with spatial sound technology — making it as intuitive as mixing in mono or stereo. This new workflow aims to reduce the complexities that often come with integrating new spatial sound technologies into existing systems.
“We’ve spent extensive time and effort working with our development team and key industry experts to ensure that this update makes the process as intuitive as possible,” says Francesco Papaleo, Application Engineer at Holophonix. “The Wizard feature, a step-by-step interactive guide, makes it easy for users to go from opening the software to having sound coming through the speakers. The goal is to make the process seamless and as simple as traditional mixing workflows,” Papaleo adds.

Holophonix Version 2.3 also expands compatibility with professional audio equipment, including seamless integration with Yamaha mixing consoles from the QL, CL, and DM series. Integration with the PM series will be available in an upcoming update. The software also boasts enhanced interoperability, allowing for smooth integration with a variety of audio equipment commonly used in live performances, studio settings, and installations. Whether connecting to mixing consoles, digital audio or workstations (DAWs), Holophonix ensures that users can easily connect and manage their audio setup offering sound engineers greater flexibility in their workflows.
“Interoperability has been a key focus of this update,” explains Papaleo. “Our aim is to ensure that Holophonix can integrate effortlessly with all the essential tools in an audio engineer’s arsenal, whether it’s a traditional console or a more sophisticated setup. This eliminates the headache of compatibility issues and makes the system accessible to a wide range of audio professionals. We have ambitious plans for the future of this Wizard, including a strong commitment to making it a conversational agent with built-in AI.”
Holophonix stands out for its unparalleled flexibility and compatibility with any brand of loudspeakers. Designed as a versatile toolbox, Holophonix also seamlessly integrates with other software and hardware used in the performing arts industry, making it an adaptable solution for venues of all kinds. One of Holophonix’s distinguishing features is its ability to integrate into pre-existing workflows without adding complexity.
“By focusing on compatibility and ease of use, we’ve ensured that sound engineers and professionals can adopt this new technology without disrupting their established routines,” explains Adrien Zanni, Head of R&D at Holophonix. “This is a crucial advantage in an industry where time and efficiency are paramount.”
Versatile Audio Algorithms
Unlike competitors who often limit their solutions to a single spatialization algorithm, Holophonix offers a suite of 15 different algorithms. This versatility allows users to choose the most suitable approach for their artistic context, whether for live performances, museum installations, or any other application.
Staying true to its commitment to user support, Holophonix offers the 2.3 update free of charge to all current software users as a download. This ensures users can benefit from the latest improvements at no additional cost, providing an up-to-date and optimized experience.
Holophonix will exhibit at Integrated Systems Europe in Barcelona, Hall 7 Booth 7J100.
