Hearts Around the Table introduced Hallmark’s worst love interest, but it’s not who you think

The first of four Hearts Around the Table movies, Jenna’s First Love, is now streaming. But Hallmark might have introduced the worst love interest it’s ever had. But is it who you think?
Fans are already lucky to get new Hallmark movies on a weekly basis, but the Spring Into Love series is essentially a four-in-one. We’ve got four separate stories in the Hearts Around the Table series: Jenna’s First Love, Shari’s Second Act, Josh’s Third Serving, and Kiki’s Fourth Ingredient. Get the idea?
The series is still dropping weekly, with Jenna’s First Love now on Hallmark’s streaming service. Jenna is a high-flyer, known for her out-of-the-box marketing ideas. When she has to work with ex-boyfriend Andrew on a new brief, tensions quickly rise.
Although he starts out as an absolute jerk, it isn’t actually Andrew who comes off the worst. He’s a boy done good, unlike another love interest Hearts Around the Table: Jenna’s First Love introduces.
Tom is the true villain of Hearts Around the Table: Jenna’s First Love
While Andrew tries to make amends and get closer to Jenna, boss Tom launches a romantic offensive of his own… and it’s pretty icky.
Let’s rewind. Jenna is originally supposed to work directly with Tom to host a benefit for a non-profit organization Tom’s company has recently got involved with. Instead, he sends Andrew as a consultant, kick-starting their reunion after we find out the pair were each others’ first loves at high school. As you might have guessed, things didn’t have the prettiest ending.
Tom is brought in to hear their ideas, loving Jenna’s unconventional approach that Andrew initially dismissed. He’s hooked on her, and starts making moves that would definitely violate any HR code.
While Andrew pines in the distance, billionaire Tom gets to work sending a private jet to fly Jenna to his private winery (not a euphemism). While there, it’s clear Tom’s intentions are anything but professional, even though Jenna takes his promise of “a work meeting” at face value. To make matters worse, Andrew Facetimes Tom midway through, making everyone feel awkward.
When Tom asks to see Jenna again, it’s clear he’s pretending to have work issues to take her on a date, Jenna picks up on this, feeling uncomfortable as Tom asks her to dance. Thankfully she comes away unscathed, but it all feels really dodgy.

Obviously, it’s Jenna and Andrew who end up together, but Tom doesn’t really get called out for his bad behavior. When Tom first approaches Jenna, her friends are all for it. He seems caring with a good head on his shoulders, not to mention has billions of dollars behind him. They all hate Andrew, so why shouldn’t Jenna set her sights on someone like Tom?
But when Tom learns about Jenna and Andrew’s past, he still continues to bulldoze through without any hesitation. Not only is it fairly inappropriate for a boss to treat an employee like this, but it certainly goes against bro code (or at the very least, girl code).
Normally, Hallmark love interest learn their lesson and grow as people if they’re brought into be the bad guy. However, Tom doesn’t have any progression at all, easily making him the worst Hallmark hunk of all time.
