Fortnite’s One Piece crossover is still in the works after long delay

Despite the lengthy delay, Fortnite developers remain hard at work on the long-awaited One Piece crossover.
Rumors about a One Piece collaboration started making the rounds over a year ago in February 2024. The first leak came from the XboxEra podcast, which could only reveal that something related to the popular anime and manga was in development at Epic.
Fans quickly started making their wish lists, specifically calling for skins modeled after Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, and other characters.
Yet, months went by without so much as a peep from the Fortnite crew. Now another leak has the rumor mill churning once more.
Fortnite x One Piece collaboration details
According to leaker NotPalo, Epic still plans on releasing a One Piece crossover with “two waves.” This means one batch of content will go live at a set time, followed by another round of skins, items, and possibly more at a later date.
The leaker notes that the collaboration has been delayed, but there’s still no launch date set in stone.
As for the characters that will feature in the reported collaboration, players can expect all of the following “for now”: Luffy, Nami, Roronoa, Usopp, and Sanji.
Per usual, all of the above information should be taken with a grain of salt, given that Epic Games has yet to corroborate anything.
Still, a One Piece and Fortnite collab seems long overdue. The battle royale has already crossed over with several other popular anime franchises, including everything from Attack on Titan to the increasingly popular Jujutsu Kaisen.
It appears that it’s only a matter of time before One Piece gets represented in some capacity. And based on the new leaks, Epic Games intends to go all in.
