Fortnite players dread rumored addition of vehicles in fan-favorite mode

A Fortnite leak claims that one fan-favorite game mode may soon add vehicles to the mix, and not all players are thrilled about the possibility.
Epic Games introduced Reload to the Fortnite playlist in a Summer 2024 update, inviting players to join a more fast-paced version of the standard battle royale game.
Reload hosts 40 players, who can repeatedly respawn, on a small map, enabling chaotic encounters that happen far more frequently than regular Fortnite. Many consider it the best of the game’s various offerings since it’s not beholden to the same experimental gameplay mechanics as battle royale.
But that may change, given that reliable dataminers have claimed a major addition could soon switch up Reload’s status quo.
Fornite Reload may add vehicles in Chapter 2 update
According to leakers BeastFNCreative and Loolo_WRLD, Fortnite Reload’s second chapter could add in the Cadillac that launched alongside Snoop Dogg’s Chapter 5 collab. This indicates Chapter 2 will introduce vehicles to Reload for the first time.
BeastFNCreative explained their findings as follows, “The next Reload Map currently features Snoop Dogg’s Lowrider Vehicle, [I’m] unsure whether this is developers messing about but considering its correctly placed, I doubt it.”
Fortnite players have already expressed their disinterest in such a change. One reply to the above posts reads, “That completely ruins the fun in Reload honestly.”
“Why would a small map like Reload need cars?” someone else asked in the thread.
Responses to HYPEX‘s tweet on the leak include the same level of annoyance at the rumor, with one person saying cars would be the mode’s “downfall.”
Reads another popular reply in the thread, “Please don’t put cars man. I’m hoping it’s not the cars from current BR…”
However, others have argued the idea could work if Epic were to add shopping carts or golf carts. These types of transportation options would still allow for more mobility while not upending what some have called Reload’s “pure combat” experience.
This information isn’t confirmed, so players should hold off on sounding any alarms. Either way, Epic’s plans for the new update will become much clearer Reload Chapter 2’s April 15 launch date draws near.
