Fortnite leak reveals return of Chapter 5’s most hated Mythic weapon

Fortnite players can reportedly expect Chapter 6 Season 2 to bring back an iconic assault rifle and Brutus’ Mythic minigun.

The launch of Chapter 6 Season 2 reintroduced several weapons to the loot pool by unvaulting the Mammoth Pistol, Hand Cannon, and EMP Grenade.

Fortnite developers plan on bringing back at least two more classic guns before the season ends if a new leak proves accurate.

Notably, one of the weapons made its in-game debut during Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 2 run and the other arrived during Chapter 5 – the community only remembers one fondly.

Fortnite leak claims Brutus’ Minigun will return soon

Reputable leaker HYPEX has shared that a future Season 2 update will add Midas’ Drum Gun and Brutus’ Minigun back into the mix. Apparently, each weapon will be sold for Dill Bits at Black Market shops scattered around the map.

When exactly players should expect these guns to return presently remains a mystery, but they should arrive in the near future since the second season ends in early May.

Of the two, the minigun’s reintroduction will likely prove the most divisive given user responses to the above post.

“So they saved the season by removing mammoth, and now f***ed it up again by adding minigun,” one Fortnite fan replied.

Reads another not-so-thrilled comment, “Bro like why the minigun is the last thing I want to see in the actual game…”

The Brutus weapon counts as the second Mythic version of the minigun, with the other being the Eminem-themed RG Minigun. Players especially disliked the RG version because it was easy to spam and too many matches ended with it still in play.

By the end of Chapter 2 Remix, some Fortnite users were calling for nerfs while others wanted it removed outright. The Brutus gun won’t spit out ‘Rap God’ lyrics at each trigger pull, but it’s unclear if players should brace themselves for something that feels too overpowered upon its return.
