FL Studio 2025 Adds AI Support and Workflow Improvements in Annual Update

Loop Starter, Gopher assistant and expanded Mixer Tracks headline this year’s features.

Keeping with its tradition of annual releases, Image-Line has rolled out FL Studio 2025 – a DAW update that adds long-requested functionality and a growing set of AI-powered tools. Many of the new features are aimed squarely at enhancing speed, accessibility and user feedback but users pining for ARA support will be disappointed.

Loop Starter integrates genre loops into workflow

One of the standout additions this year is Loop Starter. Built directly into the Channel Rack, it allows users to generate instant, genre-based loop stacks using sounds from FL Cloud. These loops are pre-synced, editable, and can be sent straight to the Playlist. It closely mirrors tools like Splice Create, but with deeper integration into FL Studio’s core workflow. The loops come with step sequencer tracks and can be re-generated at will – useful for sketching out ideas or building arrangements quickly.

Gopher offers multilingual in-DAW assistance

FL Studio’s new AI assistant, Gopher, is aimed at helping users learn and problem-solve without leaving the DAW. It pulls from the FL Studio manual and wider music production knowledge to answer technical and creative queries in multiple languages. While its chatbot-style interface may divide opinion, it represents an interesting move toward more context-aware, in-app help. Whether it’s signal routing or mix feedback, Gopher offers another route to getting unstuck – without switching windows or forums.

Dynamic Mixer Tracks finally arrive

A major request from the FL Studio community has been answered with Dynamic Mixer Tracks. Producers can now scale the mixer up to 500 tracks as needed, adapting to larger or more complex sessions. It’s a welcome update for users who’ve long worked around a fixed track count. There are also quality-of-life improvements to audio clips, which now support stretch, pitch, and reverse adjustments directly from their properties – speeding up routine editing tasks.

New plugin and mobile crossover tools

FL Studio 2025 also introduces Emphasis, a new multi-stage limiter for mastering/limiting, available only in the All Plugins Edition. With its clean gain structure and transparent approach, it may appeal to those also considering tools like FabFilter’s Pro-MB or Pro-L-2.

On the desktop side, Mobile Rack brings seven instruments and 29 effects from FL Studio Mobile into the main DAW. Users can run them individually or stacked. There’s also VFX Script, which expands what’s possible in Patcher for users building modular setups or custom tools.

Other updates

This year’s FLEX update includes a free 150-preset Melodic Techno pack. Remote support has been rebuilt for better integration and control, replacing IL Remote. The Chord Progression Tool now features a new Bassline Generator, drawing comparisons to tools like Scaler 3 in terms of harmonic pairing and arrangement help.

FL Studio is free to download as an unlimited trial or an update for existing owners. Find out more.
