Following the successful launch of Fantasy life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, Level-5 has announced that they’re working on a free DLC for the popular cozy game.
Fantasy Life i is one of the surprise hits from the 2025 games calendar, and its Animal Crossing-style gameplay has quickly proven incredibly popular. Since its release on May 21, the RPG has surpassed 500,000 copies sold worldwide and even broke its Steam player count record on May 24, securing over 65k players.
As of writing, Fantasy Life i sits at ‘Very Positive’ on Steam with over 4k reviews, with many fans praising its addictive gameplay. Well, to celebrate the game’s global success, Level-5 has announced that Fantasy Life i will be getting free DLC.
Fantasy Life i gets free DLC
Announced via the official Fantasy Life i website, Level-5 boss Akihiro Hino revealed details about the upcoming content.
“In response to the positive reception from players around the world, we have decided to release free DLC that will ‘update the world,’ including the addition of new recipes, so that players can continue to enjoy the game for a long time to come.”
While the DLC doesn’t have a release date, the official description notes that additional content will “allow players to utilize high-rarity weapons acquired through gacha dungeons and other methods.”
This is good news for players who enjoy switching between the game’s 14 unique jobs and acquiring the best-in-class weapons.
“Once again, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has played the game,” wrote Hino. “We plan to continue updating the game so that you can enjoy the world of Fantasy Life i for longer and more comfortably.”
