Dirac announced that its Dirac Live Room Correction technology is now available on a soundbar through a collaboration with Klipsch. The all-new Klipsch Flexus Core 300 soundbar is the first to offer Dirac’s room correction technology, until now available mainly in high-end AVRs and integrated amplifiers. According to the Swedish digital audio processing pioneer, this soundbar market debut reinforces Dirac’s position in the home audio market – where room correction is being adopted across all product categories, price points, and listening applications.

According to the Swedish digital audio processing specialist, Dirac Live Room Correction enables a significantly improved sound experience for all types of sound systems, even when applied in a fully integrated compact design such as a soundbar. The collaboration between the Dirac and Klipsch made this first implementation possible, also thanks to the powerful capabilities of the new Klipsch Flexus Core 300 soundbar, a premium design Powered by Onkyo with multiple drivers and full Dolby Atmos support.

“Today’s definition of a listening space has expanded from a dedicated home theater to any room in the house – living rooms, basements, home offices, and more – which has created new challenges in terms of high-fidelity audio reproduction,” says Fredric Tapper, Dirac’s VP of Home & Pro Audio. “This soundbar collaboration with Klipsch resolves these challenges by delivering high-fidelity audio across any room, or any listening space, irrespective of the room’s dimensions or complexities. Premium audio is for the many, not just the few, and our debut into the soundbar market underscores our commitment to democratizing high-fidelity audio across listening spaces and product categories.”

The new Klipsch Flexus Core 300 soundbar delivers the full 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos experience from one discrete box – and does so with 4x 2.25″ front-firing drivers, 4x 4″ high-output woofers, and one 0.75″ horn-loaded tweeter for front surround and center speaker channels that enhances vocal intelligibility at any volume. The new Klipsch soundbar also features 2x 2.25″ up-firing discrete full-range drivers for the rear surround channel sound – and supports Airplay 2, Spotify, and Chromecast Streaming services.

Powered by patented technologies, Dirac Live Room Correction automatically addresses common acoustic challenges that all home audio systems have, but hardware alone can’t address – or takes too much time, expertise, or cost to do so. The availability of Dirac Live is, in turn, helping to democratize access to premium audio across any listening space irrespective of room complexities.

With listening habits changing, and rooms in every home now functioning as listening spaces – for music, movies, TV, gaming, and podcasts – room acoustics is more of a challenge than ever before. Dirac Live helps manufacturers to address these challenges by delivering enhanced audio experiences for every type of sound system – now including soundbars. The software is unique in that it corrects for both the magnitude and phase of the entire sound system, including the room itself – resulting in what Dirac describes as “more transparent, balanced sound, tighter bass, improved staging, and enhanced clarity.”

“Our long-standing collaboration with Dirac continues to push the boundaries of innovation with category-defining products like the Flexus Core 300,” adds Paul Jacobs, CEO of Klipsch. “Dirac shares our belief in prioritizing exceptional performance and extraordinary value in equal measure. Today, we set the benchmark once again for premium audio.”

The Klipsch Flexus Core 300 can also be paired with the also new Flexus Surround 200 wireless rear speakers with up-firing drivers, and one or two Klipsch Sub 200 Wireless 12″ subwoofers.

Klipsch is part of the Premium Audio Company (PAC) business segment of VOXX International, together with Onkyo and Pioneer. VOXX recently announced its board is considering a potential sale of the company or a sale of some of its business segments, and has established a strategic transactions committee with that goal.
