Digital Audio Labs Unveils Livemix Pro Personal Monitoring System

Digital Audio Labs announced the release of Livemix Pro, a new and much improved personal monitoring system that delivers scalable 64-channel audio and introduces a new group mix mode for effortless control in high-demand live and studio environments. The Minneapolis-based audio ODM and Dante networking and DSP specialist company designed a complete range of Livemix Pro personal mixers and rack distribution units, including an 8-channel interface for wireless IEMs.
The new Digital Audio Labs Livemix Pro is a scalable personal monitoring system with up to 64 channels of audio, designed to help anyone make mixes easily, even with higher channel counts. Leveraging the market experience gained with the original Livemix networked monitoring system introduced in 2014 (at a time when the possibilities of an audio networking concept pioneered by Aviom and MyMix was exciting everyone), the new system focuses on making the system easier to configure and to control.
Even though the Livemix Pro was designed as a 64-channel Dante solution, it can be configured to look like a smaller system. The overall Livemix Pro was designed to adapt to any workflow, offering configurations of 16, 32, 48, or 64 Dante-networked audio channels at 96kHz, and displaying only the necessary channels per installation. This makes it ideal for churches, studios, and touring acts who need flexibility without complexity.
Every Livemix Pro system just needs a central mixer/distributor, and at least one personal mixer. To design the system, bands, orchestras, studios, live sound companies, or rental houses just need to select the distributor unit based on how many total mixes they will need. Then determine how many personal mixers will be needed. The PRO-16 and PRO-32 Distributors are Dante-ready rack-mounted units for centralized audio and power distribution, while the DA-8 Analog Output unit allows analog outputs for wireless IEM systems with streamlined routing via SoftRoute.

Based on the experience with musicians, live sound professionals, and stage managers, the company designed a range to fit all needs. The Livemix Pro SOLO and SOLO MD personal mixers provide one personal mix per unit (the MD model adds an integrated preamplifier for external intercom microphone support). The PRO-DUO dual mix personal mixer provides two separate mixes, helping reduce additional costs and stage clutter. Lastly, the system can be configured with as many MT-1 mic stand mounts and accessories as needed.
The Livemix Pro controllers improve the Livemix original consoles, making it even simpler to work with up to 64 channels, but seeing only what is needed for each situation. The controllers allow Dante channel name import, advanced effects including reverb, and group mix mode with expanded view.
Adding to the familiar Channel Mix, the new Group Mix View makes a personal mix much more simple, even with higher channel counts. Users can group multiple channels and adjust them collectively with a single knob, which dramatically simplifies the creation of personalized mixes. For users who prefer to be assisted by monitoring engineers, particularly during rehearsals, a MirrorMix mode allows remote mixing. For that reason, the mixers have built-in intercom and an auxiliary input.

All the network controllers are completely self-contained and include a massive 6″ capacitive touchscreen that is able to display 16 channels or groups per page. All Livemix Pro systems connect using Ethercon connectors and support power over CAT5e/CAT6. Each personal mixer also offers access to an advanced channel and master effects, and the possibility to configure reverb on each channel. And the stereo mixes can be published back to the Dante network.
