Diablo 4 March of the Goblins event: Release date, variants & rewards

Diablo 4 is about to be invaded by a Goblin army, but the good news is they’ll all drop some excellent rewards. Here’s everything we know about March of the Goblins.
Treasure Goblins have been part of the Diablo series since Diablo 3, with the goal being to chase them down and take all their loot before they escape through a portal. Goblins normally drop gold as they run, giving a clue as to where they went, but should you kill one, they explode into a shower of loot.
Now, Diablo 4 is expanding this mechanic with a special event called March of the Goblins. During the event, different varieties of Goblin will appear across Sanctuary, each with their own distinct theme, design, and, most importantly, each will drop a unique form of loot.
March of the Goblins dates
The March of the Goblins event will be live during Season 7 and will run from March 4, 10 am PST, to March 11, 10 am PDT, 2025.
While the event is live, there will be an increased chance to see larger packs of Goblins, encounter Greed Shrines, and even encounter Goblins when battling the world boss, Avarice.
Once the event ends, the new Goblins will remain permanently, but their activity will go back down to normal levels.
New Goblin variants
The event will see six new forms of Treasure Goblin arrive in Sanctuary. Here’s what each one will be called, what they’ll drop when killed, and where you can expect to bump into them:
Odious Ector
Odious Ector drops crafting materials when killed.
These bright green Goblins drop crafting materials when killed. They appear on all World Tiers but can also grant Obducite when encountered in Torment difficulties.
Gilded Baron

The Gilded Baron drops lots of gold.
These Goblins are the closest thing to the traditional Treasure Goblins from Diablo 3 and 4 and will appear in all World Tiers.
The main difference is now they don’t drop anything but gold – but they’ll drop lots and lots of it if you catch and kill them.
Glittering Prym

The Glittering Prym drops treasure like runes and gem fragments.
These Goblins drop gem fragments and even runes, making them very valuable if seen, caught, and killed. The ones you encounter in the Torment tiers can also drop Undercity Tributes and Scattered Prisms.
Curious Murl

The Curious Murl is a one stop shop for Obols.
Killing these Goblins rewards you a bunch of Murmuring Obols. The best news is that even if you’re Obal capacity is maxed out, they’ll be added to your inventory for later use. The Curious Murls exist in every World Tier.
Gelatinous Syrus

The Gelatinous Syrus will split into more Goblins!
When you slay this Goblin it’ll spawn two more, kill those it’ll spawn into three. Kill them all for best results. Doing so earns one Legendary item – with an increased chance of dropping additional Legendary on higher Torment tiers, as well as gold, Boss summoning materials, and even Elixirs.
Fancy Old Fedric

This fancy Goblin can drop Mythic Unique items – so make sure you kill him.
The rarest and most valuable Goblin of them all, killing Fancy Old Fedric wins you a Mythic Unique or a Resplendent Spark. While this Goblin can appear anywhere, he’s most likely to be encountered on High Torment tiers, where his items are most likely needed.
As you slay the Goblins during the event, you’ll earn Reputation which can eventually be cashed in for a Resplendent Spark. When you rise through the ranks, you’ll also be able to earn additional Treasure Bags, so the more Goblins you slay, the more plentiful the rewards.
