Among the founders is Tal Kocen, the COO and founder of Dekoni Audio, who has toured worldwide extensively as a front-of-house and monitor engineer for a diverse list of artists. His hands-on experience working with musicians on stage gives him unique insight into what performers truly need in an in-ear monitor, setting Dark Matter Audio Labs apart as a brand built for professionals, by professionals. His experience with Dekoni will ensure a superior fit and exceptional sound signatures, tailored to meet the needs of the most discerning users.
Co-Founder, Dave Friesema, brings over 20 years of expertise in acoustic engineering. Since 2005, Dave has been instrumental in designing innovative technologies in audio, leading the development of both custom and universal IEM products. With a passion for pushing boundaries, Dave brings a blend of science and artistry. With performers and engineers in mind, DMA Labs knows that each IEM must be durable and able to withstand the demanding nature of constant use. The high-quality drivers, expertly assembled housings, highly durable and lightweight cables, and protective carry case ensure the optimal performance of each product. DMA Labs uses a meticulous process that begins with precise silicone ear impressions, which are then digitally captured through 3D scanning technology, allowing for accurate sculpting to ensure a better seal and precision sound tailored to the individual’s unique anatomy.
The process involves careful consideration of where to adjust the design for optimal results, ensuring a snug fit without extending too close to the eardrum, thus avoiding the occlusion effect. DMA Labs technicians carefully refine the fit on a case-by-case basis, ensuring the IEMs are not only comfortable and visually appealing but also deliver outstanding sound performance tailored to the user’s needs.
DMA Labs will be exhibiting at the NAMM Show at Booth 10933 and will be offering visitors the first chance to experience their range of IEMs. There will also be the opportunity to get ear impressions at the show by founder, Tal Kocen. The lineup will feature four models to suit diverse audio preferences and professional needs, ranging from a base Hybrid Dual-Driver (dynamic and balanced armature) Custom IEM for $599, all the way to an eight-BA Custom IEM model for $1699.
