Cyberpunk 2077 devs may have just leaked plans for future DLC

It’s looking like more Cyberpunk 2077 DLC is in development following a couple of sneaky posts from the game’s developers.

In 2023, CD Projekt RED released Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, the big DLC expansion for 2020’s Cyberpunk 2077.

Despite originally launching in a broken state, Cyberpunk has since been patched and fixed many times over and it’s set to release on Nintendo’s Switch 2 console.

Although Phantom Liberty was the game’s only planned expansion, it has featured quite a few DLC packs and on June 3, rumors began to swirl that even more content was on the way.

Deleted Cyberpunk 2077 posts spark DLC rumors

As noted by X user SynthPotato, a Senior Writer at Virtuos had updated their LinkedIn page to state that they had “analyzed existing Cyberpunk 2077 character voices to inform writing dialogue in multiple new side quests.”

Additionally, the profile said they were coordinating, writing and polishing side quests for “upcoming DLC releases.”

“A Senior Writer at Virtuos is claiming they’ve worked on multiple new side quests, as you know Virtuos is the studio that CDPR hired to keep making Cyberpunk updates,” the user excitedly proclaimed. “If we get a new DLC or a series of quests it would be HUGE.”

However, after the profile began making rounds, the Senior Writer deleted those highlights. According to GameRant, the profile now just says that they had “written content for various projects.”

If this wasn’t already a sign that something is coming, CD Projekt RED’s Global Community Director Marcin Momot responded to fans wondering if the rumored DLC would be revealed during a Nintendo Switch 2 presentation on June 5.

“We will not be showing any new DLC during the stream – sorry!” Momot said.

This wording caught many fans’ eyes, as it doesn’t deny the existence of a possible DLC and just states that it wouldn’t be announced during the upcoming broadcast.

As fans wait for a new DLC to be officially revealed, CD Projekt Red has, however, confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will feature a new city based on a version of Chicago “gone wrong.”

Given the lackluster release of the original game, don’t expect the devs to rush out the sequel, but a new DLC expansion could keep players busy and get a little bit more out of the world of Night City.
