CS2 skin collector pays $45,000 for boring brown skin – but for a good reason

A CS2 skin collector has spent a reported $45,000 on a MAC-10 “Bronzer”, paying a premium because it holds the lowest float value in Counter-Strike 2 history.

The buyer, known as ‘Altair‘ on Steam, secured the skin with a float of 0.00000000010431. In skin economy terms, float refers to the wear level of a weapon, with lower values indicating better condition. This particular MAC-10 is the lowest float skin ever recorded in Counter-Strike.

But, despite the staggering price, the MAC-10 Bronzer isn’t flashy. The skin is a flat, dark bronze color, with no patterns or standout visual features. It usually sells for just a few cents on the Steam Market. But in this case, its ultra-low float has made it a collector’s item.

Low float skins have always been very valuable in Counter-Strike, but with CS2, a host of skins with float values lower than before thought possible have been found.

Earlier in 2025, an AUG Eye of Zaphu with a float of 0.0000000019395 sold for over $100,000.

The MAC-10 Bronzer was added in April, as part of the ‘Radiant’ Collection, and in standard condition, has little value. But this sale shows just how much weight the float value holds in the world of high-tier collectors.

In April, the market cap of the CS skin market was estimated to have hit almost $5 billion. Prices are driven mostly by demand, as the player count increases, and some skins become rarer.

While most players won’t spend anywhere near this much on skins, the top end of the CS2 economy continues to grow, with record-breaking trades happening more frequently.
