Couple says their wedding vows in the middle of a metal show mosh pit

An engaged couple in Pittsburgh decided to do something a bit unorthodox to make their marriage official: They performed their vows in a mosh pit during a metal show.
Couples thinking outside of the box for their weddings is nothing new, with people finding all sorts of unique ways to spice up the proceedings. Whether that be having a penguin act as the ringbearer or getting Overwatch’s voice actors together to officiate a wedding, people do what they can to make their day truly special.
However, one couple in Pittsburgh took things to the extreme. Rather than booking a typical venue, they said their vows right in the middle of a Cannibal Corpse show.
This wasn’t purely performative, either. They have video proof and all the proper documents signed to officially tie the knot.
Couple gets married in Cannibal Corpse mosh pit
Erica Lynn and her husband, Chris, gathered a bunch of their friends and decided to say their vows at a Cannibal Corpse concert.
“Today’s the day we say ‘I do’ in the presence of our lord and savior, George Corpsegrinder,” Erica said in a Facebook post while inviting her friends to pre-game before the show.
And, in the middle of the pit, the two of them had their wedding officiated, with fully scripted vows and nuptials. They even planned for it to happen while the song “Unleashing the Bloodthirsty” was playing in the background.
Their friend, who officiated the wedding, even wrote a metal-themed script for it. Here’s a small excerpt:
“As the band in front of us plays and sings about blood, wretched souls, and eating the heart, there are two dark beautiful hearts, two aeons of building rage, two awesome souls who are uniting together as one.
“In the words of the great Matthew Heafy of Trivium, ‘All the pain in this world won’t stop us now, for we have each other. All the hate in this world can’t tear us apart.’ This love between Erica and Chris is forever,” it reads.
The script has a bit more info about the couple’s relationship and what they hope for their future lives together before prompting the couple to say their vows and making their union official.
“By the power invested in me, Corspegrinder, and every crazy mofo in this pit and club, it is my honor to pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride.”
That said, it wasn’t a happy day for everyone, with some folks on Reddit who claimed to be at the show explaining how their big day made their experience a bit worse.
“I was at this show. It was kind of awkward since the show was so packed, no room to barely move, then they took over the floor for this. The couple crowd surfed afterwards. I mean good for them, but also came across as ‘we are the main characters energy’,” one Redditor said.
“I apologize for the behavior of this city,” said another.
Either way, The couple and their friends seem to have all had a great time, with them even getting everyone who showed up to co-sign the wedding and having their certificate signed right there in the pit.
