COD players fear big change coming in Season 3 Reloaded that ‘killed’ Warzone before

Call of Duty: Warzone players are concerned about a big change coming in Season 3 Reloaded that played a role in “killing” Verdansk the first time around.
It’s no secret that Warzone players have been begging for the return of Verdansk for a while. The original battle royale map went away when Call of Duty: Vanguard released, making way for Caldera, but its return was always suggested by players.
Fast forward to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and the map is back – mostly in its original form, but with a few slight upgrades. Its return has also seen a slew of players come back to the battle royale, with Warzone’s player count skyrocketing again.
Verdansk has only been around since the start of Season 3, but the devs have promised that it’ll be around for a while and that they have plans to keep things feeling fresh over a period of time.
Vertical Ascenders return has Warzone fans worried again
Well, with Season 3 Reloaded on the horizon, a few of those changes are coming to fruition. Vertical Ascenders are set to be added, giving players another way to scale buildings and deal with roof campers.
While they were around in the original stages of Verdansk, some players are quite concerned about their return. “Funny enough, this was the first step into killing Warzone the first go around,” one said.
“The Vertical Ascenders (or the absurd amount of them) made the game worse not better the first time around,” another added. “There’s already multiple ways on to rooftops. Ascenders are a massive L and repeat of the past,” commented another.
Some fans argued that the ascenders are needed to combat roof campers. “Good, the game can be so boring when all people are doing is sitting in and on top of buildings,” one said of the addition.
“I’m surprised so many are so annoyed by this. This was never an issue. Some buildings need ascenders,” another added.
