Celestion Introduces Truvox 1225 Midbass Loudspeaker

Celestion continues to expand its revived Truvox catalog, revitalizing a legendary brand that is part of the company’s centennial history. The most recent product is the Truvox 1225, a new 12” midbass driver offering exceptional performance at a highly competitive price point. As is the case with previous Truvox drivers the 1225 is a drop-in ready solution for sound reinforcement applications, delivering superior power handling, durability, and sound quality.
 

Ideal for two- and three-way sound reinforcement systems, the Truvox 1225 is available through retailers, making it an ideal option for DIY builders or as a drop-in replacement/upgrade to rejuvenate overworked PA setups, by restoring the energy, richness and emotional impact of the mid-bass-frequency domain. The driver will also be available as standard to manufacturers, direct from Celestion, in OEM quantities.

With a continuous power handling of 600 watts and a rated, high-sensitivity efficiency of 96dB, the Truvox 1225 will provide years of unwavering service in high-powered full-range systems in small or medium-sized venues. Designed for easy integration within existing PA systems, its robust pressed steel chassis features front and rear mounting gaskets for maximum flexibility of installation.

Several aspects of the Truvox 1225’s construction contribute to its built-to-last longevity and low-distortion punch. The cone is reinforced with fiberglass to increase its durability. A triple-roll surround ensures superior performance stability, even under heavy use. The ferrite magnet assembly was designed using Celestion’s sophisticated in-house Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software, enabling engineers to create a computational model of the speaker’s behavior in order to fine tune its design. The 64mm (2.5in) voice coil is made of copper clad aluminum with a polyimide former material.

 

Eight-ohm impedance ensures the broadest possible compatibility with power amplifiers while its frequency response extends from 50Hz to 4kHz, making the Truvox 1225 ideal for preserving midrange clarity and impact.

Celestion introduced the new Truvox line in March 2024, and continued the line with the Truvox 1525 in January, 2025. By revitalizing the Truvox brand for the modern era, Celestion is celebrating a long legacy of developing and producing high-quality, general-purpose speakers for a wide variety of sound reinforcement applications.
