Capix launches KEKS light meters for UK film photographers

Capix Ltd, has expanded its product range into consumer photography by introducing two new KEKS light meters to the UK market. The KEKS KM02 and KM-Q OLED light meters are specially designed for film photographers who want to modernize their classic cameras with advanced metering capabilities. These new products, announced at The Photography Show, reflect Capix’s commitment to supporting the growing community of analogue photography enthusiasts.

The flagship KEKS KM02 OLED light meter and the ultra-compact KM-Q OLED light meter are now available through Capix and its affiliates, priced at £139 and £119, respectively. Both models are designed to sit on the hot- or cold-shoe of any camera, offering a sleek and lightweight solution for photographers using vintage film cameras that lack built-in metering or have malfunctioning meters.

KEKS KM02 OLED light meter: Flexibility and Control

The KM02 is the more advanced of the two models, offering a range of customizable options for aperture, shutter speed, and ISO stops. It features an exposure compensation function that allows manual adjustment of exposure from -3EV to +3EV in 1/3 increments, providing photographers with precise control over their lighting settings. Additionally, the KM02 can save presets for up to three separate cameras and lenses, making it ideal for photographers who regularly switch between different setups.

Encased in a durable yet compact aluminium shell, the KM02 is built to withstand the rigors of frequent use. It boasts a 21-hour battery life, continuous and single metering modes, and a VEML7700 high-accuracy ambient light sensor with 16-bit digital resolution. This ensures accurate and reliable light readings in various shooting environments, helping photographers achieve consistent results regardless of their subject or location.

KEKS KM-Q OLED light meter: Compact and Portable

The KM-Q is designed for ultimate portability, weighing just 18.5g and measuring about the size of a sugar cube. Despite its small size, it packs impressive performance, featuring the same high-accuracy VEML7700 ambient light sensor as the KM02. The KM-Q offers up to 20 hours of continuous use on a single charge, making it a practical choice for photographers who need a reliable, portable light meter.

The KM-Q is available in two display modes, with the option of a top or back display. This allows photographers to choose the orientation that best suits their shooting style. The compact design and lightweight build make it easy to carry, ensuring that photographers can always have a dependable light meter on hand, no matter where their work takes them.

Brian Peters, Owner of Capix, commented on the new products: “The KEKS light meters bring the convenience and control of modern light metering technology to the beloved art of film photography. As more photographers rediscover the joys of shooting on film, we’re excited to offer these beautifully designed, high-quality products to support their creative journeys.”
