The R1 also includes features essential for professional use, such as a weather-sealed design with an integrated vertical grip, Wi-Fi 6E/Wi-Fi 6 support, and 2.5Gbade-T wired LAN. It offers an impressive 40 fps continuous shooting rate with an electronic shutter, providing blackout-free viewing and significantly reducing rolling shutter distortion. The camera is equipped with a 24.2MP full-frame back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor, offering up to ISO 102400 sensitivity, and uses neural network noise reduction for high clarity and sharpness. Additionally, the new Pre-Continuous Shooting mode can buffer up to 20 frames before fully pressing the shutter, ensuring you never miss a critical moment.

Powered by the new DIGIC Accelerator processor paired with the proven DIGIC X, the R1’s stacked sensor design ensures extremely fast readout speeds and instant image analysis with AE/AF detection. The DIGIC Accelerator enhances autofocus performance with refined subject detection and tracking capabilities, supported by the Dual Pixel Intelligent AF system and improved Eye Control AF.

Despite its focus on stills, the EOS R1 excels in video capabilities, integrating seamlessly with Cinema EOS workflows. It supports up to 6K 60p raw recording or 4K 60p MP4 recording using 6K oversampling with 10-bit 4:2:2 sampling. Proxy recording is possible with split saving to separate memory cards, and the camera offers various in-camera custom picture profiles, including Canon Log2, 3, PQ, and HLG.

Canon EOS R5 Mark II

The R5 Mark II is versatile, catering to a wide range of creators. Its high resolution is ideal for landscape photography, while upgraded autofocus and multimedia tools make it perfect for portrait and wedding photographers. Enhanced shooting speeds, faster processing, and refined AF performance make it suitable for wildlife and sports photography, while its strong video capabilities make it a true hybrid mirrorless camera.

Key specifications:

  • 45MP Stacked CMOS sensor
  • Eye-controlled AF subject selection
  • Up to 30fps continuous shooting with blackout free viewfinder
  • In-body stabilization rated at up to 8.5EV correction, coordinated with lens
  • Pre-burst capture (up to 0.5 sec in stills, 3 or 5 sec in video)
  • 8K Raw video capture up to 60p
  • Canon C-Log2 profile
  • Waveforms and false color display
  • AF trained by machine learning for specific sports
