Black Ops 7 release date leaked and it’s later than you’d expect

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s release date has been leaked by a reliable insider ahead of the game’s official reveal in August.

According to TheGhostOfHope, BO7 is set to release globally on Friday, November 14, 2025. This would make it the latest Call of Duty release we’ve seen, being a day later than Cold War’s release back in 2020.

We’ll need to wait and see whether this turns out to be true, but Hope has accurately leaked tons of details in the past, so it’s about as reputable as it gets without coming from the developers.

However, we should get official word from Activision during the official reveal at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19, 2025.

Black Ops 7 set to be the latest CoD release ever

Call of Duty games typically launch in October or November, with BO7’s mid-November date would be the latest yet. Here’s a quick overview of the past few years’ release dates:

  • Black Ops 6: October 25, 2024
  • Modern Warfare III: November 10, 2023
  • Modern Warfare II: October 28, 2022
  • Vanguard: November 5, 2021
  • Black Ops Cold War: November 13, 2020
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: October 25, 2019

So, it’s not wildly outside the norm for a Call of Duty release, but it is the latest we’ve seen yet. When the Season 1 update and Warzone integration drops is another matter, as they typically arrive in November or early December to give the devs time to iron out any major issues before the holiday break.

It would also line up with Xbox’s schedule for the remainder of 2025, with the November slot currently being open following Ninja Gaiden 4’s release on October 21 and The Outer Worlds 2 on October 29.

TheGhostOfHope has also reported that the Call of Duty Next event, where we get the full reveal and live gameplay from influencers, will take place “at the end of September” with the beta to follow.
