Black Ops 6 players are getting tired of stoner-themed CoD skins

Since Black Ops 6’s release, several weed-themed skins have been added to the game. It’s at the point where players are getting over the massive influx of this theme.
Call of Duty’s skins have had no small amount of controversy over the years. Whether they’re accused of being pay-to-win for being too hard to see or they end up getting removed because of backlash around the people they’re based on, skins have been a huge sticking point for players at times.
However, this time around, the issue isn’t that these skins give an unfair advantage or that they’re offensive in any way. No, many Call of Duty players are just tired of having so many weed-themed skins.
Between the Jay and Silent Bob crossover and some other original weed-themed skins, many Black Ops 6 players are over it.

If so many skins made around this theme has been made, there’s a clear reason: Players are buying them. And, while there may be a huge portion of players who loves this sort of theme, others aren’t a huge fan of CoD’s stoner takeover.
Jay and Silent Bob are the latest additions, with the Bluntman and Chronic skins being especially on-the-nose, but they aren’t the only ones that have been added.
A bong-smoking lizard by the name of Blunty got added along with a gun named “Blunt Trauma” and an SMG that doubles as an actual bong. There’s also the Weedstronaut skin with weed-themed smoke grenades, a marijuana-shaped optic, and other cosmetics themed around the plant.
Not to mention the Wizard of CoD, a weed-wielding wizard armed with tactical bongs.
“How many weed skins is enough??” asked one user whose post made waves on Reddit, acknowledging that it’s a part of the game’s fanbase but that they may be overdoing it.
“It’s cause the stoners keep forgetting they already bought a weed skin, so they keep buying more,” one user joked in response.
Several posts of this kind have caught on in the last few weeks, with players being divided on whether or not this is appropriate. Some believe CoD’s devs are just playing to their audience, while others believe the trope is played out.
Either way, this push for weed-themed skins makes sense in the leadup to 4/20. And, now that the “holiday” is here, there’s a chance CoD moves on to other themes in the near future.
