The CR-56 AMAX has returned to Warzone and it’s dominating Verdansk once again. But if you really want to make the most of it and stay competitive, you’ll need the meta loadout.
Verdansk is back and the iconic map has come with a number of classic weapons to crank up the nostalgia. This includes the Kilo 141 and HDR, which can one-shot at all distances, but the best of the bunch is the AMAX.
The deadly Assault Rifle has quickly emerged as the best gun in Warzone, so here are the attachments and Perks needed to put together the ideal loadout.

Kicking off the best CR-56 AMAX loadout is the Jason Armory 2X, which offers additional zoom to make those mid to long-range shots easier to land. However, you can switch to whichever optic you’re most comfortable using.
Then, the combination of the Ported Compensator and Vertical Foregrip eliminates much of the weapon’s recoil, making it a breeze to use. Recoil Springs also help here, offering an additional bit of control that let’s make full use of its blistering TTK.
Finally, Extended Mag 1 ensures that you can take out most of a squad before needing to stop and reload, which is crucial in fast-paced fights.

Tempered also comes in handy, as it reduces the number of plates needed for maximum Armor from three to two, reducing the amount of time you’ll spend plating up. For the Wildcard, Overkill allows you to bring another primary weapon along, ideally an SMG like the C9 to cover you at close range.
Moving on to Equipment, you can’t go wrong with the Frag Grenade to rack up quick kills, while a Smoke Grenade will provide useful cover when you’re trying to make an escape.
Is the CR-56 meta in Warzone?
Yes, the AMAX is a top-tier weapon in Warzone Season 3 and has immediately established itself as the meta Assault Rifle. While the Kilo 141 has a slightly more forgiving recoil pattern, the sheer damage it puts out can’t be matched.
Its TTK is much faster than virtually any AR, and with the attachments listed above, it’s laser-accurate at mid-range. Of course, nothing beats the HDR in terms of long-range fights, but this is comfortably the best all-round weapon in the game right now.

How to unlock
The CR-56 AMAX is a reward on the Season 3 Battle Pass and can be found on Page 6 as the HVT. You’ll need to earn enough tokens to claim the other six unlocks on that page, before using a final token to get the rifle.
Once the Battle Pass expires at the end of the season, it will be available through the Armory. Simply head into the Armory menus, select it, and earn enough XP to unlock it permanently.
Best alternatives
If the CR-56 isn’t quite cutting it, the XM4 is an absolute beast following a huge damage buff in Season 3. Likewise, the Cypher 091 is back in the meta thanks to its insane TTK at mid to long-range.
