Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 8 release date finally announced & it’s soon

It’s finally here, the highly anticipated 8th Baldur’s Gate 3 patch has officially been given a release date, and it’s much sooner than many thought.

Bringing crossplay, photo mode, and a new subclass for every single class currently in the game, the Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 is set to be one of the biggest updates for the game since it was released back in August 2023.

The patch was officially announced back in November 2024 to which Larian revealed a variety of stress-tests would be enacted to a lucky few. However, now, it’s finally dropping to all players on every platform, and it’s soon.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 releases on April 15

As announced by Larian on X, the Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 will be released on April 15.

This comes months after it was initially announced and will bring in tons of new features, bug fixes, and of course, the highly awaited photo mode that’s been promoted constantly by the developers.

In fact, the last major patch brought to Baldur’s Gate 3 was on September 5, 2024 in which they added 13 new cinematics for your evil playthroughs, new in-game mods, and a change to Honour Mode.

As previously mentioned, this will be going live for all players on every platform, likely completely changing how you play the adventure. And who knows, there may even be new features you missed before or that have been added in the update.

What’s more, to celebrate the release, developers Larian Studios will also be hosting a Patch 8 Launch Stream where they’ll detail all the new features coming and dive further into the new subclasses we can expect. The stream will be live on April 16 at 1pm UTC on their Twitch.
