Aladdin’s Jasmine is going to help solve Disney Dreamlight Valley’s biggest mystery

Disney Dreamlight Valley fans were delighted when Tales of Agrabah introduced Aladdin and Jasmine into the cozy game. Yet there’s more to their appearance than the introduction of two popular characters, it could have finally answered one of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s greatest mysteries.

If you were around when Dreamlight Valley hosted its potato mystery (yes that was a real thing) then you know the game’s no stranger to a hidden puzzle or two. Whether it’s through fishing, undiscovered codes, or rewards in cabinets, DDV is constantly scattering clues to these puzzles throughout its adventure.

Now, as both Aladdin and Jasmine fly into the game on their magical carpet, DDV is revisiting one of its biggest mysteries. We’re going back to Skull Rock…finally.

The Memento

Once you’ve unlocked the pair and complete Jasmine’s level ten friendship quest, which you can do through our handy guide (shameless self promotion), you’ll unlock a quest with Merlin, otherwise known as The Memento.

Essentially, if you haven’t completed the quest, or flew through it without exploring the story, Jasmine previously acted as a protector for your secret journal. Once you unlock this journal through a series of keys, it’ll reveal some pretty negative feelings, wish magic, and the desire to break away from expectation and be utterly free.

What follows is Merlin explaining to you that this journal, along with the magic it produces, is a Memento. These are physical manifestations of you pushing away negative feelings rather than dealing with them. As such, they’ll come back stronger and must be dealt with, or what you just went through will happen again, and worse.

Now, it’s no secret that this Memento quest has to be part of the main story. We’ve never seen anything like it in friendship quests before, and the fact that it’s “not the only one of its kind hidden in the Valley” suggests we’re about to see more rearing their negative heads.

Skull Rocks answers lie with Jasmine

One such Memento could be Skull Rock. We already know who’s coming into the game through that update and know it’s part of the main quest. Given The Memento is also a main story, it stands to reason that Skull Rock is a memento, and a pretty large one at that.

Now you may be thinking ‘what are you on about that’s a bit of a stretch’ and yeah okay maybe it is, but also look at it like this.

That journal spoke all about jealousy and the desire to be free without any constraints or anyone to tie you down and tell you what to do. Now what Disney character is a physical manifestation of that? None other than Peter Pan.

The character embodies freedom, he can fly wherever and whenever he wants to. As a child, he’s the manifestation of independence. He gets to be a child forever, never worrying about being misunderstood, trapped, or facing the responsibilities of an adult.

As such, we, the Forgotten, shut him away in Skull Rock as an act of jealousy, quite literally shutting our negative feelings away, along with our fears of growing up and losing that childlike freedom.

When you look at the rest of the main story, this is far from impossible. In fact, it’s an extremely likely situation.

Whether Peter is like Jasmine, instructed to watch over that negative memento is yet to be seen. But if Jasmine’s skills and friendship adventures are anything to go by, we’ve already begun the main quest and are one step closer to solving the Skull Rock mystery.
