Aaron Taylor-Johnson fuels James Bond rumors with unexpected new deal

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has long been rumored as the next in line to play the James Bond, and while there’s no official confirmation just yet, a new deal has fueled speculation that he’s our new 007.
The news comes after Daniel Craig’s departure from the role, following a critically acclaimed five-movie run that began with 2006’s Casino Royale and concluded with No Time to Die in 2021.
Craig’s Bond was grittier and more emotionally complex than many of his predecessors, marking a shift from the suave, invincible spies played by the likes of Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore.
Since Craig hung up his tuxedo, names like Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, and Regé-Jean Page have dominated the chat, but the frontrunner for the past several months has been Taylor-Johnson.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson enters partnership with official James Bond watch brand
This has reached new heights after the Kraven the Hunter star was announced as the new brand ambassador of Omega – the official watch brand worn by 007 since 1995’s GoldenEye.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, May 23, the Swiss firm wrote, “Omega welcomes Aaron Taylor-Johnson to our watchmaking home in Bienne.
“The actor and Golden Globe winner stepped into our watchmaking home for an exclusive tour, meeting the watchmakers behind our timepieces.”
Speaking about his new role, Taylor-Johnson stated, “I place significant value on relationships that are genuine and built on mutual passion and respect. With that, it’s a tremendous honor to be selected as a Brand Ambassador.”
As said, Omega has a long-running connection to the Bond franchise, with GoldenEye marking the beginning of its on-screen partnership with the character, replacing Rolex.
Specifically, he wears the Omega Seamaster – a diving watch known for its style, durability, and military heritage.
Now, it could just be a coincidence that the actor rumored to take over the role has entered a partnership with the watch brand, but that hasn’t stopped fans from reading into it more.
Taking to the comments of the Instagram post, one wrote, “Hello Mr. Bond, we have been expecting you.”
“Hello Bond?? Really good actor,” said another, while a third quipped, “Do I hear the 007 theme?” A fourth chimed in, “James Bond? I hope so… we have said for years he would be perfect!”
Of course, until MI6 makes it official, we’ll have to file this one under for your eyes only.
