New Umamusume: Pretty Derby Support card has players resorting to rituals
Umamusume: Pretty Derby has just rolled out its newest card, Kitasan Black, which has led to many simulating rituals to get it.
The Umamusume: Pretty Derby experience is truly unlike any other. While the title’s been available in Japan for a while now, things really took a different turn upon its global release. At this point, it’s almost impossible to escape the anime horse girls every time you open social media.
Thanks to a recent update introducing Kitasan Black, many are flocking to the game to try to obtain the SSR Speed Support card due to how valuable it is in the global meta.
Of course, given the gacha nature, not everyone can be lucky enough to get it without spending a ton of money. As a way to increase their chances, or at least attempt to, a lot of players have apparently been turning to rituals to get their hands on the card.
Umamusume’s Kitasan Black card is a must-have for every trainer
Things are looking pretty wild in the Umamusume subreddit as of now, as first spotted by PCGamer. If there’s one way to describe it, it’s as if fans are simulating rituals to get the card through hieroglyphs and symbols as well as throwing biblically accurate angels in the mix through the posts they’ve shared, all for getting good luck.
One user posted an image of a summoning circle with candles, another attached an altered illustration of an Egyptian painting featuring the Kitasan Black card in front of a cat that looks like the character, and the latter added an image of a biblically accurate angel with Kitasan Black’s features and Carats underneath.
In the comments, one user admitted they were surprised to see something like this, but then they realised that “it’s just your typical ritual before a great banner arrives in a gacha game.”
“Don’t forget the sacrifices,” they jokingly added.
Others also went along for fun with the idea, with some pointing out that the ritual “worked,” given that Cygames gave players extra Carats for free to get more pulls.
