Saramonic unveils TC-NEO wireless timecode sync system – Camera Jabber

Saramonic has announced the launch of the TC-NEO, a wireless timecode generator designed to bring precision and simplicity to multi-camera and multi-recorder production workflows. Lightweight, compact, and highly versatile, the TC-NEO aims to eliminate the usual headaches of timecode syncing—long setup times, tangled cabling, and post-production drift—while delivering professional-level accuracy.

Weighing just 42.5 grams per unit, the TC-NEO is slim enough for direct mounting on cameras or discreet rigging on audio gear. The system uses a high-precision TCXO oscillator with a drift of less than one frame over 48 hours, ensuring frame-accurate synchronisation across extended shoots. It supports SMPTE-12M LTC/ATC timecode across a broad range of frame rates—23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, and 60 fps—making it suitable for global production environments.

Each TC-NEO unit features a 1.1-inch OLED display, tactile control dial with a pyramid-texture grip, and ships with eight colour-coded silicone sleeves for fast identification on set. The system includes a three-unit charging kit, with each unit offering up to 22 hours of battery life. USB-C passthrough power ensures uninterrupted operation during long production days.

Wireless syncing is achieved through Bluetooth or 2.4GHz connections, and users can configure or sync up to 48 devices via the dedicated Saramonic System App. TC-NEO also integrates directly with Saramonic’s K9 UHF wireless microphone system, streamlining the process of syncing high-quality location sound with video. For compatibility with other brands’ setups, Auto Jam Mode allows TC-NEO to receive timecode via 3.5mm or USB-C from third-party generators, while wired sync is also supported.

Connection options include Line Input (L-IN), Line Output (L-OUT), and Audio Output (A-OUT) via 3.5mm or USB-C, offering broad compatibility with a wide range of AV hardware—from mirrorless cameras and DSLRs to dedicated field recorders and audio interfaces.

The TC-NEO marks a significant move by Saramonic into the timecode generator space, traditionally dominated by niche players like Tentacle Sync. With its mix of wireless syncing, long battery life, and app-based control, the system is geared toward independent filmmakers, field crews, and production teams looking for a reliable, affordable solution to streamline multi-camera shoots and post-production workflows.
