How to get Apothecary ingredients
If you’re looking to create a potion but don’t have the ingredients, then you’ll want to set your Sims off to forage.
Explore the world around you and click on the floor. Then, select “Forage here” or “Forage for Apothecary Ingredients”, the latter of which you’ll need to be level 2 in the skill to be able to do. Doing so will let you grab some of the more common ingredients. It’s worth noting that a few are only found in specific locations, so we recommend you keep exploring and Foraging.
If you don’t fancy exploring, you can always head to your Apothecary Table and purchase the ingredients you need instead — though that’ll cost you a few Simoleons.
How to build your Apothecary skill
If you’re looking to increase your Apothecary skill fast, there are a few easy ways to level up, and they don’t break the bank.
Create cures and elixirs
Perhaps one of the most rewarding ways to level up your Apothecary skill is to create cures, potions, and elixirs.
Just like it is learning to cook or play guitar in Sims 4, you need to practice in order to level up. Head over to your Apothecary Table, craft the level one potions, and keep going until you’re at the level you’re looking for. Plus, you’ll get some useful potions as a reward.
Use the computer
While it’s not as quick, researching Apothecary at your Sims’ computer is an easy way to increase your Apothecary skill.

Head over to your nearest PC, research the Apothecary skill, and you’ll see it going up. If you’re patient, this will level you up as much as you need.
Read skill books
Alternatively, if your Sim prefers paperback research, reading Apothecary skill books is another surefire way to increase your skill from the comfort of your own home.
Purchase the book from your computer and let your Sim give it a read, just like Vampirism, you’ll learn tons about the new way of life.
Mentor other Sims
Once you reach level five, you’ll be able to mentor other Sims in the Apothecary. Again, this isn’t the quickest, but it’s a great way to both increase your Sims’ Apothecary level and add the skill to another family member or friend.
So, that’s all you need to know about the Apothecary skill in The Sims 4. While enjoying the Enchanted by Nature expansion, be sure to check out Enchsnted by Nature’s cheats — now that’s the easiest way to level up your Apothecary skill.
