Black Ops 6 & Warzone Season 4 is so broken they removed Verdansk Ranked again

The Season 4 update has arrived in Black Ops 6 and Warzone, but it hasn’t been a smooth rollout as players have been reporting lag, glitches, and even crashes.
Following the success of Season 3, which brought back the OG map Verdansk and brought new life into both Warzone and multiplayer, fans were hoping that Season 4 would keep the momentum going.
It seemed promising too, with new guns like the FFAR 1, the return of the Grief mode in Zombies, and even a POI in Downtown to explore. However, once the update went live on May 29, players soon began running into major issues, including laggy lobbies and crashes.
BO6 & Warzone Season 4 update breaks the game
As soon as Season 4 got underway, social media became flooded with posts reporting performance issues across both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
“Load into a game no sound… Change something on your gun, game crashes every single time… menus not working then crash,” said one multiplayer fan on Reddit. “How do you push something out this broken?”
“This is not playable on the PS5,” said a Warzone player, along with a video of their FPS plummeting in the middle of a match.
Some players also reported being disconnected mid-game and being booted back to the home screen. Thankfully, the devs shared an update saying that “Call of Duty services are now stabilizing,” meaning you should no longer be kicked out of the games, although many of other problems are still present.
In fact, the launch has been so rocky that Warzone Ranked Play has been removed temporarily from Season 4.
“Our team has been working diligently to resolve performance issues that players encountered following the initial Season 04 launch earlier today,” said the devs in an X post. “On that note, we’ve decided to delay Ranked Play: Battle Royale while we work on bringing the experience back to its intended fidelity.”
This isn’t the first time that Warzone Ranked Play has been affected by a botched update either, as the mode was also removed due to server issues following Season 3 Reloaded.
The good news is that the team are actively investigating the issues and working on fixes, so it shouldn’t be too long before BO6 and Warzone are back to full strength.
