Oblivion Remastered player commits simple crime & gets jailed for 55,000 years

One Oblivion Remastered player was faced with 20 million days of jail time without even physically hurting anyone.

Oblivion Remastered quickly took the internet by storm when it was shadow-dropped in April 2025. After nearly two decades, fans of the game could jump into Cyrodil yet again to save the world, but with improved graphics and several gameplay tweaks.

Regardless of which version of Oblivion you prefer, one thing that can remain the same is the temptation to commit some evil in the RPG title.

Just like in real life, doing these things always comes with consequences. And for one user, they had to learn the hard way just how severe those consequences can be.

Oblivion Remastered player sent to jail for over 20 million days

Sharing their experience in a Reddit thread, one user has revealed what happens when you go to jail with a bounty of over two billion.

In the game, how long you’d spend in jail depends on the amount of your bounty. The higher it is, the more severe it gets.

As seen in the screenshot they shared, they were jailed for 20,178,790 days. If you’re wondering, that’s equivalent to 55,284 years.

Despite the insane number of days, though, there was actually no violence involved. The player didn’t assault, trespass, murder, or even steal a horse.

All they did was pickpocket one item and steal a total of 1,052,737 items, leading to the bounty mentioned above. Since this experience was first posted, others have jumped into the comments to share their thoughts, with many not hesitating to crack jokes.

One user made a reference to Skyrim, writing: “You wake up in a cart with some prisoners. “Hey, you! You’re finally awake…”

Another one said: “Bro skipped straight to Starfield.”

“You were in prison so long that the Elder Scrolls became Fallout,” joked another.
