Female solo traveler finds man hiding under her bed in Tokyo hotel

A female solo traveler made a horrifying discovery after she found a man hiding under her bed in a Tokyo hotel room.

On April 25, model Natalisi Taksisi took to Instagram to share a creepy experience she had while staying in a Tokyo hotel. In the post, Natalisi explained how she returned to her room after exploring the city, only to find a “weird smell” was coming from underneath her bed.

“After a day of sightseeing, I came back [to the hotel room] at around 7:30 pm. I unlocked my room like usual, took off my clothes, lay down on the bed, and then I noticed a weird smell.”

Initially, Natalisi thought the weird smell was from her hair or the bed sheets, but then she realized it was coming from underneath her bed.

“When I leaned over to check, I saw a pair of eyes staring at me,” the model recalled in her Instagram post. “I saw an Asian man under my bed, and I started to scream and jumped to my feet.”

After being found, the man climbed out from underneath the bed and briefly stared at Natalisi before screaming and running out of the room.

“Those seconds felt like my life was over,” Natalisi said. “I screamed for help, and the hotel administration came and called the police.”

Upon their arrival, authorities searched the room and discovered a power bank and a USB cable, which were left underneath the bed. According to Natalisi, the hotel staff explained that the police wouldn’t be able to find the intruder due to the lack of CCTV within the building.

Natalisi revealed she chose APA Hotel, a well-known hotel chain that has over 300 properties across Japan, as it looked “legit” and had keycard entry. However, following the disturbing incident, the model chose to check out early and requested a refund due to safety concerns.

The hotel has since responded to Natalisi, apologizing for the incident and confirming that they will be issuing a refund. As for the culprit, the hotel notes that: “Since there is no video recording of the entry and exit, it is difficult to identify the culprit, so the case can not be made into a crime, and the investigation is difficult to continue.”

A detective visited the hotel and conducted an initial investigation, which included taking fingerprints, but they were ultimately unable to identify the culprit.

“I wish this had been just a story,” wrote Natalisi. “I wish it hadn’t happened. But it did. Stay safe. Always check your room. Trust your instincts.”
