1923’s Michelle Randolph urges fans to prepare for “a lot of tragedy” in Season 2

While speaking to Dexerto, 1923 star Michelle Randolph has revealed that there may be some heartache coming in the final season of the Yellowstone prequel.
Randolph’s character Elizabeth is one of the more positive personalities in the spinoff. Young and in love with Jack Dutton, Elizabeth is thrown into the new demanding lifestyle of the Dutton family. But she learns to settle into the drama.
Now, as Season 2 begins, there are plenty of questions hanging in the air. Will Spencer and Alex make it to Montana? Will Jack and Elizabeth try for another baby? And will the Duttons save the ranch?
There’s a lot at stake, and as Randolph explains, fans may need to be prepared for some tears.
Michelle Randolph cried while reading 1923 Season 2 scripts
When Dexerto spoke to Randolph about the upcoming season, she warned that there may be troubling times ahead.
“I think it’s a mix of both,” she said when asked about the likelihood of a happy or heartbreaking ending.
“But this season, I’d say stakes are a little higher, and there’s a lot of tragedy. I cried throughout the whole entire script reading every single episode, so prepare yourself.”
However, it won’t all be tragedy. She also offered some optimism about the show’s upcoming ending, adding, “But I think the ending is beautiful.”
That leaves the door open for plenty of scenarios. We know the Duttons will keep hold of the ranch for generations to come, but there may be some huge losses during their fight. Odds are, there will be more devastating Yellowstone deaths to come.
1923 Season 2 premieres on Paramount+ on February 23.
